“No spring nor summer beauty hath such grace as I have seen in one autumnal face.” ― John Donne,
I hope you’re doing well on this chilled out Sunday afternoon.
Autumn is definitely my favourite season. I love how colourful and cosy everything becomes. October is also my birthday month, so that helps too. I enjoy planning for Christmas, drinking flavoured lattes, wrapping up in a cosy scarf and celebrating Halloween and Bonfire night.
When I read my lovely friend Sarah’s post, I had to join in with this tag. Although my blog is almost completely focused on books, I couldn’t resist throwing this one into the mix. Check out Sarah’s post: https://bookhookednook.wordpress.com/2017/10/03/falling-for-fall-tag/
The Falling for Fall tag was originally created by Megan, be sure to check out her post too. 🙂
Q1: What is your favourite fall scent?
Definitely anything cinnamon scented, it’s such a warming and cosy smell. It reminds me of cuddling up with the heating on, cosy pyjamas, a fleecy blanket and a cup of tea – perfect!
Q2: Do you prefer apple stuff or pumpkin stuff?
I prefer apple flavoured things in general, especially when it’s paired with cinnamon. I do currently have a pumpkin spiced scented candle though, and it smells so good!
Q3: What is the one thing that you look forward to every single fall?
Wrapping up warm, with a hot chocolate and watching fireworks on Bonfire Night.
Q4: How do you like to spend the more chilly/cloudy days in fall?
Having a cosy pyjama day in the house, reading or watching one of my favourite films.
Q5: Which do you prefer: Halloween or Thanksgiving?
I’d have to say Halloween, as I don’t celebrate Thanksgiving. I love carving pumpkins, watching scary films and eating toffee apples.
Q6: What is the one way you embrace the fall season?
By lighting autumn scented candles and wearing comfy, oversized jumpers.
Q7: What photos would you like to take this fall?
Some of fallen leaves, like the one I took for the featured image of this post. I love the colours of the leaves, and I think they look so pretty in photos.
Q8: Favourite childhood memory from this season?
One of my favourite memories is riding on a Halloween ghost steam train with my mother. I dressed up as Hermione (I’m pretty sure) and we sat on the train in the dark and they told ghost stories over the speakers. The train then stopped at a wooden chalet and we walked through it. They decorated it with all things spooky and they had ducking apples too. I’ve always enjoyed anything scary, so as a child I loved this!
Q9: What is your favourite trend (fashion, makeup, etc) so far this season?
I wouldn’t say it’s as much of a trend anymore, but definitely the new Urban Decay: Naked Heat Palette. Although it was released in the summer, the colours are so autumnal and gorgeous. I’ve used it a few times already, and I’m absolutely in love with it! The pigment is amazing and when paired with the Urban Decay Primer Potion, stays on all day – so impressed!
Q10: Describe what the fall weather really looks like where you live?
Rainy and cold. It rains a lot in Wales and a lot of leaves have fallen off the trees now. It’s starting to get chillier, but it’s still quite mild for October.
