Disney Book Tag

there is magic everywhere (6)

Hi lovely people,

I hope you’re all doing well.

I’ve been excited to do this week’s post for 2 months now and I’m so glad that I’ve finally got around to it! Thank you so much to Rachel for tagging me. You can check out her post and answers here: https://rachels-readings.blogspot.co.uk/2017/09/disney-book-tag.html.

My question for you all today is what’s your favourite Disney film? Difficult question I know, but I’d love to know in the comments below. I think mine is a tie between Beauty and the Beast and Tarzan, love them both so much!

I hope you enjoy this post,

ash x

The Little Mermaid – A character that is out of their element, a fish out of water.

Monty – The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue

Without giving too much away, there’s so many times where Monty gets himself into awkward situations and the way he reacts to Percy being ill makes him a fish out of water.

Cinderella – A character who goes through major development.

Bilbo Baggins – The Hobbit

Bilbo goes from only living a quiet life in The Shire for 50 years, to embarking on a massive adventure to The Lonely Mountain. His character develops massively throughout the book.

Snow White – A book with an eclectic cast of characters.

The Harry Potter series

I had to chose Harry Potter for this one, it contains so many truly amazing characters that I love.

Sleeping beauty – A book that put you to sleep.

Elizabeth is Missing – Emma Healey

I’d have to say Elizabeth is Missing as it was a book that I didn’t enjoy very much and struggled to read.

The Lion King – A character that had something traumatic happen in their childhood.

The Baudelaire Children – A series of Unfortunate Events

They really did have a horribly traumatic childhood, so I think they’re the best ones to choose for this section.

Beauty and the Beast – A book that was a beast (a.k.a a big book that you were intimidated by but in the end found beautiful)

The Norton Anthology of Poetry

This may seem like a rather random choice but this book is huge – it has a whopping 2256 pages! I had to read parts of it for my degree and we had to take it into one of our exams. In the exam, there was a question asking us to analyse poetry from it and it seemed so daunting as it contains so many poems. I grew to love the book as some of the poems are truly beautiful. I still haven’t managed to fully read it yet though!

Aladdin – A character who has their wish granted for better or for worse.

Veruca Salt – Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

What happens to her in the book really sums up what it means to have your wish granted for better or for worse!

Mulan – A character who pretends to be someone or some thing that they are not.

Severus Snape – The Harry Potter Series

I don’t think this one needs an explanation.

Toy Story – A book with characters who you want to come to life.

The Harry Potter Series

For a third time I’m going to mention these books, sorry not sorry! How could I not choose Harry Potter for this one? I would love for the characters to come alive, how amazing would that be!

Disney Descendants – Your favourite villain.

I would choose Lord Loss from The Demonata series but I’ve already spoken about him being my favourite villain in a previous post. You can check that out here: https://ashleighbekkah.wordpress.com/2017/11/08/top-5-wednesday-problematic-favourites/

I’m  going to choose Pennywise. I’ve still not read the book (I know, I’m sorry) but I absolutely loved the character in the newest adaptation.

I really liked this tag! I also totally agree with your Monty selection, it’s true. Also, he seems out of place for that time period? *shrug*

(found you from the twitter blog follow train 🙂 )

Hahaha I’m currently reading out of a volume of the Norton Anthology of English Literature for class and it is SO BIG but has so many useful works in it!

All your answers were just perfect!! I really liked reading this tag. I still have yet to put up mine. I think I was tagged around the same time as you! 😂 whoops. I’ll get around to it someday! My favorite Disney movie is The Lion King! It was the first movie I saw in theaters so it holds a special place in my heart!

Thanks ☺️ It’s about a guy called Monty whose family is well off. He goes on a tour to parts of Europe with his friend Percy and his sister. It’s basically a last blow out before he has to settle down into adult life. The tour ends up getting out of hand and Monty ends up putting them all into some questionable situations. 😂 I’m not good at explaining and I don’t want to say too much and give anything away, but it’s definitely worth a read. Monty is also bi, representation… yay! ☺️ xxx
