Hi all,
How are we all doing?
This week’s tag is the How I Choose My Books Tag, one I’ve been looking forward to doing for a while. I was tagged by my fellow book blogger Megs, https://betweenthepages13.wordpress.com. Go and show her blog some love, it’s brilliant.
I hope you enjoy,
Find a book on your bookshelves with a blue cover. What made you want to pick up this book?
I loved Matt Haig’s book Reasons to Stay Alive so much and naturally wanted to read another book written by him.
Think of a book you didn’t expect to enjoy, but did. Why did you read it in the first place?
I read this book as it was one that we were all reading for the Great Bloggers Group Chat. I wasn’t sure if I would like it at first, but I’m so glad I decided to read it. It was brilliant and I would highly recommend it!
Stand in front of your bookshelf with your eyes closed and pick a book at random. How did you discover this book?
I discovered this book through watching a YouTuber called Melanie Murphy. She talks about it quite often and I knew I had to read it as it’s about the Law of Attraction, which is something I’m interested in. Here is a link to Melanie’s videos if you’ve not watched them before, she’s great: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCDwHFuZJV_2qukjmkJGWIfw
Pick a book that someone personally recommended to you. What did you think of it?
A friend in work recommended this book to me, and I thoroughly enjoyed it! There were so many twists and turns I didn’t expect at all!
Pick a book up that you discovered through booktube/bookstagram/book blogs. Did it live up to the hype?
This book I discovered through Social Media in general. There was so much hype around it and I thought that it was a great collection of poems. I would say it did live up to the hype, but I think there are people who may have enjoyed it more than I did, even though I did enjoy it a lot.
Find a book on your shelves with a one-word title. What drew you to this book?
A few of my blogging friends loved this book and after reading the synopses I thought I would too. Aside from that, the cover is absolutely gorgeous, and definitely drew me to buying the book!
What book did you discover through a film/TV adaptation?
I first heard about this book when the film was released on Netflix, starring Emma Watson. I had not heard of the book prior to this and it intrigued me. I’ve nearly finished it and plan to watch the film afterwards. I prefer to read a book before watching the film adaptation when I can!
Think of your all-time favorite book(s). When did you read these and why did you pick them up in the first place?
I read the Harry Potter series after I saw the first film, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. I quickly read through the first four books, then I read 5-7 as they were published. I read them because I absolutely loved the first film.
