The 2019 POPSUGAR Reading Challenge | Introduction Post and January Update

Hi everyone,

Hope you’re doing well!

If you’ve been following my blog for a while then you’ll know I attempted two reading challenges last year, Beat The Backlist and Tippy Tupps Reading Challenge. For 2019 I’ve decided to give the 2019 POPSUGAR Reading Challenge a go.

If you’d like to check out the link to the challenge on the POPSUGAR website, you can do so here. There’s also a Goodreads group you can join to chat to other readers who are doing this challenge. 😊

The 2019 POPSUGAR Challenge:

This challenge is quite an ambitious one, there’s 40 book challenges on the list, plus 10 advanced challenges too. There’s so much variety in the books you could choose too, which is why I decided to do this challenge as it’s quite a versatile one.

I’m aiming to complete 20 of these challenges by the end of the year. I’m not sure I’ll be able to do it, but I’m going to give it a good go! I’ll be doing monthly updates too. I couldn’t see any rules suggesting that one book couldn’t be used for multiple challenges so I may do this if a book fits a few of these. If this isn’t allowed though, let me know. 😊

If you’re doing this challenge too, please let me know in the comments, we can cheer each other on! 😊

January Update:

1. A debut novel:

The Silent Patient – Alex Michaelides

2. A book that’s published in 2019:

The Last – Hanna Jameson

3. A book recommended by a celebrity you admire:

Recommended in one of Hannah Witton’s YouTube videos – the book was already on my tbr but she reminded me about it.

Feminists Don’t Wear Pink and Other Lies – Scarlett Curtis

4. A book featuring an amateur detective:

The Lost Man – Jane Harper

5. A book about a family:

The Lost Man – Jane Harper

6. A book with a two word title:

Parsnips, Buttered – Joe Lycett

So there we go, I managed to complete 6 of the challenges already! I’m quite happy with this as I didn’t expect to compete this many so early in the year, maybe I will surpass 20 after all!

How many challenges did you complete if you’re doing this challenge? Let me know! 😊
