Browsing Bloggerโ€™s Bookshelves | Two Book Thieves

Hi everyone!

Hope you’ve all had a lovely weekend!

What have you been up to? Today was my last shift in work before my week off and holiday! I can’t wait to have some time off. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Today’s post is something I’ve been wanting to do for a while now. It’s called Browsing Blogger’s Bookshelves. The idea was originally created by Lauren (Original post here) and Sarah (Original post here). Please go and check out their original posts as they’ve created a great idea! ๐Ÿ˜Š

How it works:

– You and another blogger share photos of your bookshelves with each other.

– Based on the books the other blogger has, you each write a post about what books you’d recommend, book they own that are on your TBR list, and books you wouldn’t recommend.

Me, Angharad and Becky from Two Book Thieves decided to collab and share bookshelves with each other today. This was such a fun post to do!

Hope you enjoy,

Angharad’s Bookshelves:

Books I’d Recommend:

Because We Are Bad – Lily Bailey

It’s such a great and heartbreaking book that discusses what it’s like to have OCD as a child and as an adult. It’s raw, emotional and an important and educating read.

The Quiet at the End of the World – Lauren James

This book blew me away! I’m not usually a huge Sc-Fi fan, but this book was brilliant and one of my favourite reads of 2019 so far.

This is Going to Hurt – Adam Kay

I’ve not read it all yet, but the bits I have were absolutely hilarious and I can’t wait to finish it!

Books on my TBR:

Sooo many books and an endless TBR, but all of these sound great!

The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet – Becky Chambers

The Secrets You Hide – Kate Helm

The Devouring Gray – Christine Lynn Herman

The Hate U Give – Angie Thomas

THUG has been on my tbr for the longest time. I watched the film last year and was blown away by it, need to read this soon!

Heartstopper – Alice Oseman

I’ve seen so many great things being said about this graphic novel and it’s one I want to read this month!

Children of Blood and Bone – Tomi Adeyemi

It Only Happens in the Movies – Holly Bourne

This has been sitting on my shelf since 2017 – I really need to get round to it soon.

The Near Witch – V. E. Schwab

The Seven Husband of Evelyn Hugo – Taylor Jenkins Reid

I’ve heard nothing but great things about Seven Husbands and plan on reading it by the end of the year.

The Secret History – Donna Tartt

The Book Thief – Mark Zusak

This has honestly been sitting on my bookshelf for years, in fact I own two copies of it and own the film but still haven’t picked any up. It’s a book I know I should love and am nervous to pick it up in case it doesn’t meet my expectations. But I really do want to read it soon!

Books I Wouldn’t Recommend:

Mythos – Stephen Fry

I’ve not read this book, but have heard mixed reviews of it and don’t think the way the book is written would be suited to me. Perhaps I would enjoy it, but I can’t see myself reaching for it any time soon, even though I have a copy of it that my boyfriend bought for himself.

A Collection of Wit and Wisdom – Oscar Wilde

I was given this as a Christmas present a few years ago, but it’s not really my kind of thing.

Becky:

Books I’d recommend:

The Wicked King – Holly Black

I’ve recently started this and I’m loving it so far. I thought The Cruel Prince was fantastic and I can’t wait to see where the stories goes in this sequel. I’m not a big fantasy reader, but these books sucked me in instantly.

Books on my TBR:

Daughter of Smoke and Bone – Laini Taylor

This is a book I didn’t realise I owned until going through old books in the attic. So many people have recommended it.

The Winter of the Witch – Katherine Arden

Hunted – Meagan Spooner

Catwoman – Sarah J. Maas

This is another book that’s been sitting on my shelf for nearly a year now and I need to read soon!

Wonder Woman – Leigh Bardugo

The Bone Witch – Rin Chupeco

The Dollmaker of Krakow – R. M. Romero

This book sounds right up my street!

Daisy Jones and the Six – Taylor Jenkins Reid

Girls Made of Snow and Glass – Melissa Bashardoust

Girls of Paper and Fire – Natasha Ngan

Perfectly Preventable Deaths – Deidre Sullivan

This book has been in my radar for quite a while now after reading arc reviews of it. It sounds brilliant and I can’t wait to pick up a copy!

Other Words for Smoke – Sarah Maria Griffin

The Furies – Katie Lowe

I received this book in a recent Book Hooked Box Subscription Box. It was already on my tbr so was super happy to finally own a copy of it!

Books I wouldn’t recommend:

Wild Beauty – Anna-Marie McLemore

Although I’ve heard great things about this book, it’s not really for me.

Do you agree with my choices? Are there any you’ve read that you think I should read too? Let us know in the comments below. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Don’t forget to give Angharad and Becky a follow and be sure to check out their post where they discuss my bookshelves too!
