How are we all doing?
As you may have already guessed from my previous posts, I’m attending YALC 2019 this year. In 2018 I only attended on the Saturday, and this year I’m attending on both the Friday and Saturday. Maybe next year I’ll do the whole weekend!
After Carrie Hope Fletcher was announced a few weeks ago as attending on the Sunday, I toyed with the idea of buying a Sunday ticket as I’ll still be in London. While I’d love to go, I’ve decided against it as Arsenal, the football team I support have a pre-season game that afternoon. I’ve never seen them play in person before so thought it was perfect timing. I still get to go to two days of YALC and see my team play so I can’t complain!
So here’s my hypothetical list of what I would do if I was attending on the Sunday! Are you going on this day? What would your plans be? Don’t forget to let me know in the comments! 😊
One small step for man, one giant leap for YA – I love Lauren James’s book The Quiet at the End of the World and would have love to hear her speak about her books and writing process.
Behind the curtain – This goes without saying. I’ve watched Carrie’s videos for years and love her books so would have loved to have seen her talk about them in person.
Sarah Ann Juckes, how to get an agent and get published – Publishing a book is definitely on my bucket list pm but something I haven’t looked into all that much. It would be interesting to have an insight into how I could go about it and find out some useful information.
Editing workshop, Zoe Plant – I love editing as as an aspiring editor this workshop would have provided some helpful tips!
