My Fun-Filled Fitness Folio is an inspirational A-Z Guide to keeping fit by Yoga and Pilates instructor and all-round health, fitness and wellbeing lover, Neeta Oza. This powerful little book offers tips and inspiration to keep newbies – through to fitness fanatics – on track, to keep life flowing during times of finesse and fireworks.

If you’ve read any of my book reviews before, then you’ll know I’m no stranger to Neeta’s books. This is the third book of hers I’ve read and I loved My Fun-Filled Fitness Folio just as much as her previous two books. Neeta’s first book is the Mini-Micro Mindset Manual, focuses on mental health and how to improve your overall mental wellbeing. You can check out my 5 ⭐️ review of it here. My Fun-Filled Fitness Folio focuses on physical health and is full of tips and tricks to get you started on your fitness journey. If you’re anything like me, then you may have all the intentions of starting to lead a more active lifestyle by going to the gym, but keep putting it off. I always struggle to know where to begin and feel as though I need to know everything there is to know about the equipment before joining again. Neeta provides some really useful tips and strips fitness back to its fundamentals. This isn’t a book that will make you feel guilty for not leading a super healthy lifestyle, but rather it provides all of the essentials to encourage you on your way.
What I love about Neeta’s books is that although they’re under 100 pages, they’re always so engaging and jam packed with great advice. Neeta knows her stuff, she runs her own fitness company and is a personal trainer so all of the advice she gives is relevant and accurate. If you want to start your fitness journey or improve it, MFFFF is a great place to start.
Neeta explains that there’s many different forms of fitness, it doesn’t always have to involve the gym – Yoga and Pilates are equally as great for you. It was interesting to see how she links Yoga with self reflection and meditation. Yoga sounds like the perfect fitness activity to keep yourself grounded and reflect on the days events, I’m definitely going to give it a go myself!
The spelling, punctuation and grammar was perfect and I loved that MFFFF follows the same pattern as Neeta’s previous books and acts as an A-Z manual. There were many letters I particularly enjoyed and found helpful, I’ll definitely be rereading these in the near future!
The part that stood out to me the most was having confidence in myself. In all honesty I’m not as confident as I used to be when it comes to working out. While I love team sports and being in the gym when I get there, I tend to feel quite self conscious, when I just need to own the space I’m in while exercising. Another part I found helpful was H for Habit. Making something into a habit means you’re less likely to avoid doing it, if I integrate the gym into my daily routine, it will become a habit instead of a chore after a while.
As Neeta explains above, there’s plenty of online exercise routines you can follow, so we don’t really need to go to the gym to fit exercise into our lives. If there are certain activities you enjoy, it’s worth having a scour of the internet and YouTube to see if you can do them in the comfort of your own home. 😊
Overall I thoroughly enjoyed My Fun-Filled Fitness Folio, it was encouraging and has definitely made me determined to join the gym and establish a regular exercise routine again, even if it’s only for 15 minutes a day, it’s better than nothing! As Neeta explains, exercise makes us feel great when we’ve completed it, even if we ache but the next day!
I would absolutely recommend this jam packed book to fitness fanatics and beginners alike. It’s brilliantly written and Neeta is great at creating motivational and engaging content.
If you’ve not read her previous two books, I’d definitely check them out! Neeta’s books are an automatic read for me now, she’s a fantastic writer and I love that her books are quick reads, but ones you can keep reaching for when you need to inject some inspiration into your life!
