I hope you’re all doing well!
This is just a quick post from me to say that I’ve started a new venture, and I’ve decided to make a BookTube channel – eek!
This is something that I have been considering for a long time, but didn’t really feel like I had the confidence to do. But, over the last few months, I have been posting some YouTube style content on my Instagram TV and have been really enjoying it!
While I love IGTV, the videos being posted on there did limit things such as reach and collabs, so I decided to chuck myself in at the deep end and start a BookTube channel as an extension of my Instagram and blog 🙂
If you read my hiatus blog post a few months ago, you will know that I’ve taken a step back form blogging for the most part. While I am still posting some reviews of AD-PR books I’ve been sent by the publishers, I haven’t been posting much content other than that.
I won’t go into too much detail, but as I explained previously, since I am now writing for a living, I wanted to take a bit of a step back from blogging and have been using other creative bookish outlets such as Instagram. While I love blogging, writing every day and in my spare time felt a little overwhelming, and I didn’t want to force my blog.
I set my blog up as a hobby and never expected it to gain the reach and following that it has. I am super grateful for that and didn’t want to post content just for the sake of it because that wouldn’t be genuine, and I wouldn’t be happy with what was being posted.
If you want to read my full hiatus announcement you can do so here.
So, with my blog still being on a semi-hiatus, that brings me to BookTube. I didn’t want to stop making bookish content as it’s such a big passion of mine. So, I thought that BookTube would be a great way to share my love and thoughts for books without writing. I’ve been enjoying the filming and editing process a lot, and it feels fun and fresh to me.
With my BookTube, I’ll be chatting about all different kinds of genres, just as I do on here, and I’ll be sharing things like hauls, wrap ups, reading challenges and some fun series that I have planned too! My blog isn’t going anywhere, and I am planning to link the BookTube videos here too, so you can easily watch and enjoy them 🙂
I know this is a little different, and maybe something you didn’t follow me for, but I do hope that you will give it a chance 🙂 I am back planning some future posts for my blog and have some VERY exciting book reviews for blog tours to share with you in the coming weeks… so stay tuned for that!
When my blog does make its way back, you will probably see some changes to the colour theme and I will be talking about horror and thrillers a bit more… even fantasy… apparently I enjoy it a lot more now haha!
But seriously, thank you so much for sticking around for the last 5 years, it truly does mean so much to me and I can’t believe this little blog has been going on for as long as it has :O
My BookTube Channel is called FTLOBOOKS, and it can be found here. I would love it if you considered subscribing 🙂
I posted my first video today which was THE BOOKTUBE NEWBIE TAG! I feel like it’s not BookTube unless you film this haha!
Thank you so much for all of your continued love and support it really does mean the world to me! If you would like to stay up to date with the content I post on a day-to-day basis, my Instagram and Twitter are both: @FTLOBOOKS 🙂
Let me know what your three desert island books would be in the comments below!
