Turning a new page…

Hi guys,

I hope you’re all doing well.

I’m going to keep this short and sweet, and acknowledge the awkward elephant in the corner of the room, better known as this blog. It hasn’t been used in over a year – sorry.

I could come up with a number of excuses for the reasons why I haven’t written in such a long time, but I’m not going to. After graduation, the plan was to devote more time to this blog and really kick it off, but alas, life got in the way. A full time job, working 4-11pm is not ideal when you want to devote a significant amount of time to reading and writing.

But one door closes and another one opens. This month marks the start of having free evenings again, and I am now determined more than ever to make a successful go of this blog. A gutsy decision to focus on what I love to do was needed and that’s exactly what I did. As the Mary Shelley quote states above, the beginning can be whenever you want it to be, and as corny as this sounds, I choose now.

So, what does this mean? It means that I’ve taken time out to spend time creating new blog ideas, content and refocus what I want to write about. I’ve decided to take a slightly different approach to this blog.

As you may have seen from the redesign and name change, I am now dedicating this blog to books. I understand that this may not be to everyone’s taste that follows me, but this is my passion and I want to express that.

Initially, I will be posting book reviews on a Friday, and a piece of creative writing on a Wednesday. I may also occasionally post a book related blog on a Monday too. I am aiming to write one blog post a week, alternating between a book review and a piece of creative writing.

I am looking forward to this new change and I hope that you are too. I hope you will all enjoy this new approach I’m taking.
